At time I had been in EMS a few years. July 2nd 2010. We were on our day 3/3. Pagers went off for motor vehicle accident one vehicle. My truck was on the call. We had 5 ejections at one time. Never had time to think. Just did what we are trained to do.
Doctors told me 4 years later. Somehow my brain was able to mentally forget and bury it away. Until the date 4 years later. They found me in the back. Relieving that call. I work for a parts place. Imagine their surprise. To see me in the back doing CPR. On someone who wasn’t there. Scared them and me.
I couldn’t tell what was real or fake. I was admitted for help. Wrote out 12 pages in a notebook. Every year since I haven’t forgotten. The nightmares still haunt me.
